| Some of the original ScrewJack Lifts had wheels with open spokes. To solve the problem of the wheels rolling on the steps, one owner would put a pipe through the wheels to lock them (when climbing steps). This problem is severe on older wooden steps which are worn to a slant. | The dual lifting feet on the Escalera StairClimber are securely bolted to the dual 4000lb. lifting chains. The wheels on the Escalera are not used in the lifting mode they are automatically placed on the step by the lifting feet. |
